Sweeta Rai

Sweeta Rai holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Kashi Vidyapeeth and a Master’s in Fine Arts from Sir J.J School of Arts. Her artistic journey has been marked by numerous exhibitions, prominently featured in prestigious galleries such as the Jehangir Art Gallery and the Lalit Kala Academy, both in India and abroad. Sweeta’s remarkable talent has earned her recognition and accolades, including a national-level award from the South Central Zone of the Art Society of India and Camlin.

Notably, Sweeta’s creative spontaneity and artistic freedom were acknowledged by the Ministry of Culture, which granted her a Junior Research Fellowship. Her art is deeply autobiographical, weaving together the tapestry of her childhood memories and everyday experiences. Through a relentless process of evolution and experimentation across various artistic mediums and forms, Sweeta delves into the intricate layers of the human psyche, exploring inner consciousness and emotions like abandonment, emotional turmoil, agony, dreams, and desires.
